This 250cc street-naked iteration is among the bestselling KTM bikes in the country. In addition, the KTM 250 can be had in ADV (adventure) and Duke (street naked) versions.
For your reference, all KTM offerings are manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant. As you may know, Bajaj Motors and KTM have a joint venture in India.
Moreover, the KTM 250 Duke is available in one variant only. The body paint can be chosen from two colour options: Ceramic White and Electric Orange.
Given the pricing of this 250cc bike, this KTM bike takes the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250.
So, let’s see what offerings the KTM 250 Duke has. Let’s read on, then.
Specifications
Like all other KTM bikes, the Duke 250 is structured on KTM’s in-house designed trellis frame with an aluminium sub-frame. This all-new frame offers improved handling, which makes the manoeuvrability even better, especially around the corners. Further, this frame is more robust than the previously used frame, as a result, it makes the bike more durable.
Now as far as the figures are concerned, the 250 Duke is powered by a 249.07-cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is tuned to churn out 30.57 bhp at 9250 rpm and 25 Nm of peak torque at 7250 rpm. This engine makes the rear wheel spin via a standard six-speed manual transmission. Given the Duke 250 price, it has impressive offerings, as far as the specifications are concerned.
The transmission offered benefits from assist and slipper clutch, as a result, they offer smooth gear shifts, especially at high speeds.
Further, the fuel tank capacity of the KTM 250 Duke is 15 litres. Last, but not least, this 250cc street naked bike is also BS6 Phase 2 compliant.
Suspensions, Brakes and Tyres
Since the Austrian bike manufacturer owns the WP Suspension company, the bike manufacturer has used the WP suspensions across its range. That said, the Duke 250 is equipped with 43mm (diameter) WP APEX upside-down forks at the front and a ten-step pre-load adjustable WP APEX monoshock suspension at the rear.
In addition, KTM bikes being manufactured in India also have their suspension setups tuned as per the Indian roads. Having said that, this bike can soak the undulations and bumps from potholes with ease.
Further, the braking duties are taken care of by dual disc brakes. The size of the front disc brake measures 320mm, while the rear disc brake measures 240mm. For added safety, this 250cc naked bike has dual-channel SUPERMOTO ABS. The combination of dual-channel ABS and dual-disc brakes can bring down the chances of a mishap, especially during emergency brakings.
